NaPoWriMo Day 1: Naked / by Shanelle Gabriel

He told me my hips

were worth more than my ass

My teeth

More than my lips

My brows

more than the spirals

That shelter my scalp

My hands

On his body worth more than

My ability to glide fingers

Across his heart

I asked him what price was he willing to pay

He smiled

Like a careful curator

In possession of priceless collections

Always surrounded by beautiful things

That never stay

I ask him what was my naked body worth

And he said nothing if not next to mine
